On Wednesday, the Chinese mainland's Ministry of Commerce condemned the United States for its attempt to impose a global ban on Chinese advanced computing chips, urging Washington to correct its wrongdoings immediately.
In an official statement, the ministry noted the recent guidelines issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce targeting China's advanced computing chips—including Huawei's Ascend line—under the pretext of alleged export control violations.
The ministry called these measures "a typical case of unilateral bullying and protectionism," warning they could severely undermine stability across the global semiconductor industry and its supply chains.
"Such actions deprive other countries of their right to develop advanced computing chips, artificial intelligence and other high-tech industries," the statement added.
