At a United Nations ceremony marking Nakba Day, Geng Shuang, the Chinese deputy permanent representative to the UN, called on the international community to take concrete steps toward a two-State solution that upholds justice and peace.
He reaffirmed China’s support for an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital. Geng urged member states to turn compassion into action by adopting policies that protect civilians and promote stability.
Noting that more than seven decades have passed since the Nakba, he stressed that now is the time for meaningful progress. China stands ready to work with all peace-loving nations to ensure displacement and suffering become part of history, not the future.
This appeal comes as youth activists, faith leaders, and diplomats worldwide renew their push for fresh momentum in a peace process stalled by geopolitical complexities and humanitarian crises. The global community now faces a test of its collective will to chart a clear path toward coexistence.
