Ancient Patterns, Digital Realms

On May 13, "The Ways in Patterns: An Immersive Digital Exhibition from the Palace Museum" opened its doors in Hong Kong. This landmark collaboration between the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum in Beijing transforms centuries-old Chinese motifs into vibrant multi-sensory digital experiences.

Visitors journey through seven themed zones, each unveiling the stories behind traditional patterns found in architecture, porcelain and textiles. Interactive projections and soundscapes bring motifs to life, bridging time and space in a contemporary setting.

Running until October 13, the exhibition also features hands-on workshops where participants can explore the cultural significance of classic designs and experiment with modern reinterpretations. It’s a space where art, history and technology intersect.

From digital art enthusiasts to globetrotting culture seekers, "The Ways in Patterns" offers a fresh perspective on Chinese design heritage, inviting young global citizens to experience the magic of ancient art through cutting-edge innovation.
