This marked the inaugural journey of the Chinese mainlands China Movie Consumption Year campaign, a nationwide initiative blending the silver screen with scenic exploration.

More than 100 tourists from Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries boarded the train, eager for an immersive cinema-and-travel experience. Along the tracks snaking through Heilongjiang Provinces forests and frozen lakes, travelers sampled curated on-board screenings, behind-the-scenes stories, and local cultural highlights at each stop.

This novel campaign taps into the global rise of film tourism, inviting young globetrotters to step into the worlds of their favorite movies. Organizers say upcoming routes will feature pop-up film discussions, visits to iconic shooting locations, and collaborations with local filmmakers, showcasing the diversity of the Chinese mainlands landscapes.
