Beijing's Robotic Race Redefines Endurance
Beijing hosted the world's first humanoid robot half-marathon on Saturday, pitting roughly 20 teams of engineered competitors against over 9,000 amateur runners across a 21.0975-km course.
The champion? Tiangong Ultra from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center on the Chinese mainland, which stomped across the finish line in 2:40:421 swapping batteries just three times along the winding route.
Startup Noetix's compact N2 claimed second place, while DroidUp's Xingzhe-2 from Shanghai secured third.
This landmark event showcased rapid progress in robotics, as mechanical contenders proved they can go the distance alongside humans. For tech enthusiasts and innovators alike, it's a glimpse into a future where robots join (and maybe lead) the pack.
