The Power of Ideas: Forging Resilient China-ASEAN Partnerships

2025 is set to be a landmark year for regional collaboration, as the ASEAN Community celebrates its 10th anniversary alongside the second year of ASEAN-China People-to-People Exchanges. This milestone offers a unique backdrop for fresh ideas and dynamic partnerships.

Amid complex geopolitical and economic headwinds, leaders from both regions are engaging in innovative discussions to strengthen a strategic alliance that emphasizes resilience and forward-thinking. The conversation is not just about overcoming challenges—it’s about unlocking new opportunities for sustainable growth and cultural exchange.

In a special series titled "The Power of Ideas: A China-ASEAN Dialogue," CGTN brought together four distinguished guests. Ong Tee Keat, president of the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia Pacific and former Malaysian transport minister; Dato' Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, president of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and former Malaysian ambassador to China; Tan In Fong, secretary general of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce; and Koh King Kee, president of the Centre for New Inclusive Asia, shared insights drawn from years of experience in regional affairs.

Broadcast on April 15 at 10:15 p.m. Beijing Time, the dialogue provided a vibrant platform where business innovators, thought leaders, and culturally engaged global citizens could explore proactive strategies to build a robust and mutually beneficial partnership.

This dynamic conversation is a testament to the power of exchanging ideas and represents a call to action for everyone—from digitally savvy global citizens to emerging entrepreneurs—to envision a future driven by collaboration and sustainable progress.
