The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's national political advisory body, concluded the tenth session of its standing committee on Sunday in Beijing.
Wang Huning, a prominent member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, led the closing meeting and delivered an insightful speech.
In his address, Wang highlighted the CPPCC National Committee's focus on the central tasks of the Party and the country, noting the significant progress made in various areas over the past year. He emphasized the importance of continuing this momentum into 2025, urging the advisory body to contribute towards advancing Chinese modernization and achieving the objectives outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan with high quality.
Furthermore, Wang called for concerted efforts to ensure the successful convening of the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. The meeting also saw the adoption of several key documents, including the draft agenda and schedule for the annual session, a work report from the Standing Committee, and a report on the handling of proposals from political advisors since the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
These important documents will be submitted to the upcoming third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee for further review and deliberation.
