Yuyuan Lantern Festival Illuminates Shanghai and Paris for Chinese New Year

Colorful lanterns have been lit up in both Shanghai and Paris as part of the 2024 Chinese New Year celebrations.

A stunning lantern installation titled \"A Night of Fish and Dragon Dance\" illuminated Shanghai's iconic Yuyuan Garden on Friday, serving as a dazzling preview for the annual lantern fair. The festival is set to officially begin in mid-to-late January 2024 and will last for over 40 days, celebrating the vibrant Year of the Dragon.

Meanwhile, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Paris marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. It also celebrates the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism in 2024. Visitors in Paris will be treated to over 60 large Chinese lantern sets and 2,000 traditional lanterns, which will illuminate the city until February 25 next year.

These lantern festivals not only highlight the rich cultural heritage of China but also strengthen the cultural ties between China and France. They offer a mesmerizing experience for locals and tourists alike, blending traditional artistry with modern celebrations.
