China and U.S. Pledge Enhanced Dialogue and Cooperation

In a significant move towards fostering global stability, Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining open lines of communication. Speaking over the phone on Tuesday evening, both leaders emphasized the importance of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

\"Two big countries like China and the United States should not cut off their ties or turn their back on each other, still less slide into conflict or confrontation,\" Xi stated. He called for both nations to pursue win-win cooperation, highlighting the shared benefits of collaboration.

This dialogue builds on the momentum from their meeting in San Francisco last November, where the foundation for the San Francisco vision was laid. Since then, communication and exchanges between China and the U.S. have intensified across various sectors, including diplomacy, economy, trade, finance, law enforcement, anti-narcotics efforts, climate change response, and people-to-people interactions.

The renewed commitment to dialogue signifies a proactive approach to addressing global challenges and strengthening bilateral relations. By prioritizing cooperation over confrontation, both nations aim to contribute positively to international stability and prosperity.
