The Chinese mainland has strongly condemned the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) for what it describes as attempts to interfere in Taiwan's internal affairs. Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks during a regular press briefing on Wednesday.
Chen emphasized that the Taiwan question is an internal matter for China and reiterated that no external interference will be tolerated. He highlighted that United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 fully supports the one-China principle, aligning with China's stance on Taiwan.
In response to IPAC's annual meeting, multiple civilian groups in Taiwan organized a protest in Taipei on Tuesday. Protestors displayed banners with messages such as \"The Taiwan question is China's internal affair, and non-interference in other countries' internal affairs is an international norm.\"
The demonstration took place outside the venue hosting the IPAC meeting, reflecting growing tensions over international involvement in Taiwan-related issues. The Taipei 101 skyscraper served as a backdrop to the protests.
