Alexandre Muller Triumphs Over Kei Nishikori to Win ATP Hong Kong Open

In an exhilarating final at Hong Kong's Victoria Park, Alexandre Muller of France secured victory against Japan's Kei Nishikori to win the ATP Hong Kong Open. Ranked 67th in the world, Muller showcased remarkable resilience by coming back from a set down.

The match kicked off with Muller dropping the first set 6-2. However, demonstrating his fighting spirit, he dominated the next two sets, winning them 6-1 and 6-3 respectively. The intense showdown concluded in one hour and 43 minutes, much to the delight of the spectators.

\"It's been an amazing week for me, losing the first set in all the matches,\" Muller said post-match. \"I have no words, I'm sorry, I just won the match, but thank you everyone.\"

Kei Nishikori, 35, entered the tournament as a wild card and reached the final for the first time since 2019. His journey to the final was hindered by the withdrawal of Chinese teenager Shang Juncheng in the semifinals due to illness. In recent years, Nishikori has battled injuries, which have impacted his standing in the top 100 world rankings.
