Gen Z Perspective: China-Laos Railway Strengthens Friendship and Boosts Laos Economy

Eakvixay Tran, a Lao student studying economics at Tsinghua University, has a unique perspective on the China-Laos Railway. His Chinese name, Xiaolong, echoes the iconic name of Bruce Lee, reflecting his connection to both cultures.

Tran's first journey on the China-Laos Railway was a memorable two-night and three-day trip to Luang Prabang, Laos. This trip came as a reward after he triumphed in a speaking contest, showcasing his passion and dedication.

Connecting Kunming, China, with Tran's hometown of Vientiane, Laos, the China-Laos Railway has significantly impacted his community. He has observed a surge in investment and real estate development, alongside a noticeable increase in local employment rates, highlighting the railway's role in driving economic growth.

Looking ahead, Tran plans to leverage the economic knowledge he's acquiring in China to establish businesses in Laos. His goal is to encourage more investment and further strengthen the China-Laos relationship, fostering a sustainable and prosperous future for both nations.
