China Media Group (CMG) has unveiled its highly anticipated 2025 premium program lineup for the flagship CCTV-1 channel during an event held in Beijing on Tuesday. The announcement introduced a diverse selection of 66 new productions aimed at captivating a global audience.
The event featured notable attendees, including Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG; Guan Zhiou, minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources; Tang Chengpei, vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs; Guo Fang, vice minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment; Wu Hongyao, vice minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; and Zhu Di, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
Liang Jianzeng, director of CMG's editorial office, highlighted the channel's remarkable growth in viewership over recent years. He pointed out that 2024 achieved a record high viewership increase of 6.28 percent, marking the highest growth rate in 13 years.
The newly announced 66 programs cover a broad spectrum of themes, including Chinese culture, industrial development, and ecological civilization. This diverse lineup aims to cater to a wide range of interests, from business and technology enthusiasts to those passionate about sustainability and cultural heritage.
