China’s AG600 Amphibious Aircraft Completes Key Certification Flight Test

The Chinese mainland's AG600 large amphibious aircraft has successfully completed the first subject of its certification flight test, marking a significant milestone in the development of this vital aeronautical equipment.

On Friday, the AG600 underwent airspeed calibration at a civil aircraft flight test center in Pucheng, Shaanxi Province. This test, conducted by a flight-test crew from the Chinese civil aviation authority, accurately measured and processed atmospheric parameters to ensure the aircraft's performance and safety.

Accurate airspeed calibration is crucial for validating the aircraft's capabilities and is a necessary step towards its certification and eventual operation. The successful completion of this test brings the AG600 closer to serving its primary role in enhancing the country's emergency rescue operations.

Designed to perform a variety of rescue missions, including firefighting and maritime search and rescue, the AG600 is tailored to operate across diverse terrains. Its development underscores China's commitment to strengthening its emergency response capabilities, ensuring rapid and effective assistance in times of need.
