Airbus has reached a significant milestone by delivering its 700th A320 family aircraft assembled at the Final Assembly Line Asia (FALA) in Tianjin, north China. The latest addition to the fleet is an A320neo, featuring 180 spacious economy class seats, which has been handed over to Chengdu Airlines. With this delivery, Chengdu Airlines now boasts a fleet of 50 Airbus aircraft.
George Xu, Airbus Executive Vice President and Airbus China CEO, emphasized the deep-rooted collaboration between Airbus and the Chinese aviation sector. \"This figure highlights the long-standing and in-depth cooperation between Airbus and the Chinese aviation industry,\" Xu stated. He further affirmed, \"Airbus remains dedicated to strengthening strategic collaboration with China and fulfilling our long-term commitment to this thriving market.\"
Christoph Schrempp, General Manager of the Airbus Tianjin Delivery Center, added, \"It means that at least every third Airbus A320 aircraft in China comes from Airbus Tianjin.\" He highlighted that this achievement underscores Airbus's strong commitment to the Chinese aviation market and its ongoing growth.
This milestone not only reflects Airbus's robust presence in China but also signifies the company's dedication to supporting the expanding demands of the Chinese aviation industry. As the partnership between Airbus and China continues to flourish, both entities are poised to drive innovation and growth in the global aerospace sector.
