On Wednesday, a coordinated terrorist attack shook the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries in Ankara, resulting in the loss of five lives and injuring 22 individuals. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and a powerful explosion as the assailants launched their assault.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that both attackers were neutralized during the aftermath of the attack. Among the wounded, two remain in critical condition, while others have been treated and discharged from the hospital.
Footage broadcasted by TV stations captured armed individuals entering the TUSAS building near Ankara, highlighting the severity of the incident.
\"Two terrorists were neutralized in the terror attack on the TUSAS Ankara Kahramankazan site,\" stated Yerlikaya. \"Sadly, we have five martyrs and 22 wounded in the attack. Three of the injured were already discharged from hospital, 19 of them under treatment.\"
The Interior Minister added that the attackers are highly likely members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). \"The style of the act shows that it is highly likely the PKK that carried out the attack. Once identification is completed and other evidence becomes clearer, we will share more concrete information with you,\" Yerlikaya said.
