A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce has voiced strong opposition to Japan's recent announcement of new export control measures targeting semiconductor-related items.
The Japanese government declared on Friday that it would implement export controls on over ten types of semiconductor goods and restrict business dealings with several Chinese companies, adding them to its \"End-User List.\"
The Chinese spokesperson expressed concerns over this move, stating, \"For some time now, certain countries have been over-generalizing the concept of national security, misusing export control measures and imposing sanctions on China's semiconductor and other industries.\"
Highlighting the broader implications, the spokesperson warned that Japan's planned export controls could undermine the security and stability of global supply chains, disrupt normal business exchanges, and harm the interests of enterprises in both countries.
Japan is currently seeking public feedback on these measures. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce hopes that Japan will consider rational voices from the industry and adjust its approach to avoid hindering the healthy development of bilateral economic relations.
\"The Chinese side will retain the right to take necessary countermeasures and will resolutely defend its legitimate rights and interests,\" the spokesperson concluded.
